About The Journal

Articles sent to the Revista de la Sociedad Peruana de Medicina Interna should be original and unpublished and deal with topics related to the area of internal medicine and its subspecialties. However, the Editorial Committee may decide whether to publish articles related to other areas of medicine and public health.

The articles submitted are considered as the intellectual property of the authors.

Peer review process

The articles published in the Revista de la Sociedad Peruana de Medicina Interna have undergone a double-blind peer review process.

The article received for publication is sent to two or more national or foreign reviewers, pairs of investigators, who submit any corrections or comments they deem relevant. In the event that reviewers issue conflicting observations, it is sent to a third reviewer.

The assigned reviewer guarantees the confidentiality of the process and will not use, for personal purposes and/or will not provide to third parties, information that is part of the article received for evaluation.

The Editorial Committee analyzes the comments of the reviewers and then communicates the comments to the relevant author to make corrections or respond to comments.

The corresponding author will respond in writing to the reviewers' comments and the Editorial Committee will decide whether the article is accepted for publication or definitively rejected.

After the peer review process, the article undergoes a style review and eventually moves on to diagramming.  The diagrammed version as it will be published is sent to the authors for correction or approval.
